About Rabbi Jeremy Gerber

Rabbi Jeremy Gerber was raised in Stockholm, Sweden, where his father served for decades as Cantor of the Great Synagogue of Stockholm. Growing up within a close-knit Jewish community shaped his early understanding of prayer, liturgy, and communal responsibility while maintaining United States citizenship.
In 1999, Rabbi Jeremy Gerber moved to New York City to pursue higher education at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, completing a dual undergraduate program. After a period of additional study and time abroad, he returned to New York for rabbinical training and was ordained in 2009.
Rabbi Jeremy Gerber then served for 13.5 years as rabbi of Congregation Ohev Shalom in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. His work included teaching, pastoral care, lifecycle guidance, and community building. His leadership emphasized structure, attentiveness, and thoughtful interpretation of Jewish tradition.
His areas of expertise include the Jewish Bible, Hebrew language, prayer, Jewish holidays, lifecycle traditions, Jewish history, and philosophy. Rabbi Jeremy Gerber is fluent in Swedish and has advanced knowledge of Hebrew, enabling him to engage texts with linguistic depth.
